Rendered as an X-ray style radiograph, the animation situates the female cerebellum deep within the posterior cranial fossa, posterior to the pons and medulla and inferior to the tentorium cerebelli. Left and right cerebellar hemispheres flank the midline vermis, with the anterior cerebellar notch opening toward the brainstem and the inferior cerebellar tonsils approaching the foramen magnum. Semi-transparent calvarium and cranial base landmarks, including the occipital bone, petrous temporal ridges, clivus, and mastoid region, provide bony reference as the cerebellar silhouette is sequentially highlighted in 3D. Orientation matters in posterior fossa work. Cerebellar infarction or hemorrhage can expand quickly and compress the fourth ventricle, leading to obstructive hydrocephalus and brainstem compromise, so being able to place the cerebellum relative to the tentorium and foramen magnum is not academic.
