Description

Presented in a three-quarter anterolateral view, the adult female body is rendered with superficial and selected deeper muscles draped over key skeletal landmarks, including the calvaria, clavicle, scapular spine, humeral epicondyles, ribs, iliac crests, patellae, and tibial shafts. From the cervical region into the shoulder girdle, the sternocleidomastoid and trapezius frame the neck while the deltoid caps the glenohumeral joint, and the pectoralis major runs inferomedially toward its humeral insertion along the lateral lip of the intertubercular sulcus. Distally, the biceps brachii transitions into the bicipital tendon and bicipital aponeurosis across the cubital fossa, and the forearm flexor and extensor masses form longitudinal fiber directions that foreshadow their tendinous continuations toward the wrist. Lower in the trunk and limb, the rectus abdominis and external oblique define the anterior abdominal wall, the gluteal region is contoured by gluteus medius and maximus, and the quadriceps and triceps surae dominate the thigh and calf with visible tendinous architecture. Breast anatomy is treated with a cut section that locates glandular tissue superficial to pectoralis major and separated from it by the retromammary space, a relationship that matters when teaching mastectomy planes and reconstruction. Axillary continuity is implied where pectoralis major forms the anterior axillary fold and the deltoid and latissimus dorsi contour the shoulder, helping orient lymphatic drainage patterns and the risk zones for long thoracic nerve injury during axillary dissection. Muscle fibers read cleanly. So do tendons. Use this plate for gross anatomy and myology teaching when you need a single figure tying muscle bellies, tendons, and bony attachment cues to surface form, or for patient-facing education on how skeletal muscle overlays the female thorax and abdomen without misplacing breast tissue into the pectoral layer. It also fits surgical atlases discussing incision planning, flap elevation, and landmarks for intramuscular injection sites (deltoid, ventrogluteal region). Anatomical accuracy verified by SciePro's Medical Advisory Board.
