Positioned on the superior pole of the kidney, the adrenal (suprarenal) gland is presented from its posterior aspect, emphasizing the gland’s concave surface where it relates to the diaphragmatic crus and adjacent retroperitoneal fat. Medially, the posterior surface approaches the aorta on the left side or the inferior vena cava on the right, while its lateral margin sweeps toward the renal fascia. Superior and inferior poles are clearly distinguished, with the inferior border tapering toward the renal hilum region. A thin capsule is implied around the gland, separating it from perinephric tissues.
