Description
A 3D model of a dendritic cell, a professional antigen-presenting cell. The cell has characteristic dendritic (tree-like) processes extending from its surface, which increase the area available for contacting T cells. MHC molecules on the surface display processed antigens to T lymphocytes. Dendritic cells are the bridge between innate and adaptive immunity. They capture antigens in peripheral tissues, migrate to lymph nodes, and present processed antigen peptides to T cells, initiating the adaptive immune response. Their activation state determines whether T cells become effectors or remain tolerant. Dendritic cell anatomy is studied in immunology courses. Medical advisory board reviewed. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
