Description
A 3D model of the female adrenal (suprarenal) glands, positioned on the superior poles of both kidneys. Each gland shows its characteristic shape, the right adrenal resembling a pyramid and the left a crescent. The cortex and medulla are distinguishable in the surface geometry, and the adrenal vasculature connects to the renal vessels and aorta. The adrenal cortex produces mineralocorticoids, glucocorticoids, and androgens in its three zones (glomerulosa, fasciculata, reticularis). The medulla secretes epinephrine and norepinephrine. These small glands have an outsized role in stress response, blood pressure regulation, and metabolic function. Endocrinology education, surgical anatomy for adrenalectomy, and pathology teaching about conditions like Cushing syndrome or pheochromocytoma all use adrenal models. Medical advisory board reviewed. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
