Description
A cross section of the female breast showing a fibroadenoma within the glandular tissue. The fibroadenoma appears as a well-circumscribed, oval mass with a smooth border, clearly demarcated from the surrounding breast parenchyma. Its internal structure shows the characteristic mix of stromal and epithelial components. Fibroadenomas are the most common benign breast tumors, frequently found in women under 30. They are firm, mobile, and painless on palpation. Unlike malignant masses, fibroadenomas have sharp margins and do not invade surrounding tissue. The model is useful for patient reassurance and education after biopsy, radiology training on distinguishing benign from malignant masses, and clinical breast examination teaching.
