Lymphatic channels parallel the venous system, collecting interstitial fluid and routing it through regional lymph node stations before returning it to the bloodstream. Node groups include the cervical, axillary, mediastinal, mesenteric, iliac, inguinal, and pelvic chains. The axillary nodes are modeled in their surgical levels (I, II, and III), which matters for breast cancer staging. Pelvic lymph nodes follow the internal and external iliac vessels. The spleen, thymus, and tonsils appear as the major lymphoid organs. Lymphatic drainage mapping is central to oncology staging, surgical planning, and immunology teaching. The female-specific node stations around the pelvis and axilla are the ones most commonly referenced in breast and gynecological cancer management.
