Description
An isolated 3D model of the female pancreas, showing the head nestled in the duodenal C-loop, the body crossing the midline, and the tail extending toward the splenic hilum. The main pancreatic duct (of Wirsung) runs the length of the gland, joining the common bile duct at the hepatopancreatic ampulla. The pancreas serves dual functions: exocrine secretion of digestive enzymes into the duodenum and endocrine secretion of insulin and glucagon from the islets of Langerhans. The head's relationship to the duodenum and common bile duct makes it a critical landmark in hepatobiliary and upper GI surgery. Pancreatic anatomy is a focus in gastroenterology, endocrinology, and surgical oncology. The isolated model allows the gland's relationship to the duodenum and biliary system to be studied clearly. Medical advisory board reviewed. Ready for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
