Description
The female urinary system as an isolated 3D model, tracing the urinary tract from the kidneys through the shorter female urethra. Both kidneys are positioned retroperitoneally, connected to the bladder by the ureters descending through the pelvis. The ureters pass beneath the uterine arteries before entering the bladder, a surgical landmark known to gynecologists. The female urethra is markedly shorter than the male, approximately 4 centimeters, running from the bladder neck directly to the external urethral meatus. The bladder sits anteroinferior to the uterus, and its shape changes with filling and with the position of the uterus behind it. The anatomical differences in the female urinary tract, particularly the short urethra and the close relationship between ureters and uterine vessels, have direct clinical implications for urinary tract infections, incontinence management, and surgical safety during gynecological procedures. Useful for urology, urogynaecology, and anatomy education. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Clean mesh for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
