Description
A second 3D model of the hepatic lobule offering an alternative structural perspective. The portal triad components, central vein, and hepatocyte arrangement are presented with different emphasis or sectioning to complement the first lobule model. Sinusoidal channels between the hepatocyte plates carry mixed portal and arterial blood. The two lobule models together allow comparison of different ways to conceptualize liver microanatomy. The classic lobule centers on the central vein, the portal lobule centers on the portal triad, and the hepatic acinus (of Rappaport) organizes tissue by oxygen gradient zones. Each model highlights different functional aspects of the same tissue. Paired lobule models support histology courses, hepatology teaching, and pathology education where understanding zonal injury patterns depends on which lobular concept is applied. Medical advisory board reviewed. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
