Description

A 3D model of the male adrenal (suprarenal) glands, seated on the superior poles of both kidneys. The right adrenal has its characteristic pyramidal shape, and the left is more crescentic. The cortex and medulla are distinguishable, and the vascular supply connects to the renal vessels, inferior phrenic arteries, and aorta. The cortex produces aldosterone, cortisol, and androgens across its three histological zones. The medulla secretes catecholamines. Despite their small size, the adrenal glands regulate blood pressure, stress response, and metabolic balance.
