Description
An anterior cross section of the male colon illustrating colorectal cancer stages by depth of wall invasion. The model shows tumor progression from mucosal carcinoma in situ through the submucosa, muscularis, serosa, and into adjacent structures, corresponding to T1 through T4 staging. Colorectal cancer staging directly determines treatment. Tumors confined to the mucosa or submucosa may be treated with polypectomy or local excision. Muscle invasion requires surgical resection with lymph node harvest, and serosal penetration or adjacent organ involvement indicates locally advanced disease. The model is used for oncology education, multidisciplinary tumor board discussions, and patient communication about staging and treatment options. Medical advisory board reviewed. Ready for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
