Description
A 3D model of the male colon showing a transverse colostomy, where the transverse colon is brought to the abdominal surface as a stoma. The stoma is positioned in the upper abdomen, and the distal bowel remains in place for potential future reversal. Transverse colostomies are often temporary, used to divert the fecal stream away from distal pathology or a healing anastomosis. The output is semi-liquid to semi-formed, since the transverse colon has absorbed some but not all of the water content. Useful for surgical education, ostomy care training, and patient counseling. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Ready for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
