Description
A 3D model of the male kidney affected by chronic glomerulonephritis. The kidney surface appears granular and contracted, reflecting the progressive loss of nephrons and replacement with fibrotic tissue. The overall size is reduced compared to a healthy kidney, and the cortex is thinned from ongoing inflammation and scarring. Chronic glomerulonephritis results from sustained immune-mediated damage to the glomeruli. Over time, affected glomeruli sclerose, the surrounding tubules atrophy, and the interstitium fibroses. The kidney shrinks progressively, and renal function declines toward end-stage disease. The model supports nephrology education, pathology teaching, and patient communication about progressive kidney disease. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Ready for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
