Male Kidney Tumor

Description

A 3D model of the male kidney containing a tumor mass. The tumor arises from the renal parenchyma, distorting the kidney's normal contour and displacing the surrounding cortex and collecting system. The mass is distinguishable from the healthy tissue by its different appearance and irregular borders. Renal cell carcinoma accounts for approximately 90 percent of kidney cancers in adults. Tumors are often discovered incidentally on imaging performed for other reasons. Size, location, and involvement of the renal vein or adjacent structures determine the surgical approach.
