Description
The male respiratory system isolated as a 3D model, spanning the upper and lower airways along with the lung parenchyma. The nasal cavity, pharynx, and larynx form the upper airway, leading into the trachea. The trachea bifurcates at the carina into the left and right main bronchi, which subdivide through lobar and segmental branches into the bronchial tree within each lung. The right lung shows its three lobes separated by the oblique and horizontal fissures. The left lung has two lobes and the cardiac notch accommodating the heart's position. The diaphragm forms the inferior boundary of the thoracic cavity, and its central tendon and muscular periphery are modeled. Respiratory anatomy education benefits from seeing the airway as a continuous path from nostril to alveolar region.
