Description
A 3D model of the male small intestine showing an S-pouch configuration. Three limbs of terminal ileum are arranged in an S-shape and anastomosed side to side, creating a larger reservoir than the J-pouch. The efferent limb connects to the anal canal. The S-pouch was one of the earlier pouch designs for restorative proctocolectomy. It provides greater reservoir capacity but is technically more complex to construct and can develop efferent limb dysfunction if the outlet segment is too long. The model supports surgical education and historical comparison of pouch designs. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Ready for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
