Description

An anterior cross section of the male stomach showing gastric mucosal prolapse, where redundant gastric mucosa from the antrum prolapses through the pylorus into the duodenal bulb. The prolapsed mucosal folds can cause intermittent obstruction and mucosal trauma. Gastric prolapse is uncommon and often found incidentally during endoscopy. When symptomatic, it can cause nausea, vague abdominal pain, and upper GI bleeding from erosion of the prolapsed mucosa against the pyloric ring. The model supports gastroenterology education and endoscopy training. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
