Description

An anterior cross section of the male stomach showing a gastric ulcer. The ulcer crater penetrates through the mucosal layer into the submucosa or deeper, with raised, inflamed borders surrounding the defect. The ulcer base may show fibrinous exudate and granulation tissue. Gastric ulcers are most commonly caused by Helicobacter pylori infection and NSAID use. They typically develop on the lesser curvature at the junction between the body and antral mucosa, where acid exposure meets the boundary between different mucosal types. Complications include bleeding, perforation, and gastric outlet obstruction. The model supports gastroenterology education, endoscopy training, and patient communication. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
