Description
A 3D model of the male thyroid gland with a goiter. The gland is diffusely enlarged, with one or both lobes and the isthmus expanded beyond normal dimensions. The enlarged thyroid may compress the trachea, causing airway symptoms, or extend retrosternally into the superior mediastinum. Goiter develops from iodine deficiency, autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's or Graves'), or multinodular change. The enlarged gland can be diffuse or nodular, and thyroid function may be normal, increased, or decreased depending on the underlying cause. The model supports endocrinology education, surgical planning, and patient communication. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Ready for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
