Male Thyroid Node

Description

A 3D model of the male thyroid gland containing a discrete nodule within one lobe. The nodule is visible as a focal mass, distinguishable from the surrounding normal thyroid tissue. Its margins, size, and characteristics determine the clinical workup. Thyroid nodules are found in up to 50 percent of adults on ultrasound. Most are benign colloid nodules or adenomas, but roughly 5 to 10 percent are malignant. Size, ultrasound characteristics, and fine-needle aspiration cytology determine management. The model supports endocrinology education, patient communication about thyroid findings, and clinical teaching. Reviewed by a medical advisory board.
