Description

A 3D model illustrating endochondral ossification, the process by which long bones form. The model shows the stages from cartilage model through primary ossification center formation, bone collar development, secondary ossification center appearance, and growth plate establishment. Most bones develop through endochondral ossification, where a cartilage template is progressively replaced by bone. The growth plate (epiphyseal plate) allows longitudinal growth until fusion at skeletal maturity. Growth plate injuries in children can affect bone development. Ossification anatomy is studied in histology, orthopedics, and pediatrics. Medical advisory board reviewed. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
