Description
A cross section of the anal canal showing stage I (grade I) hemorrhoids. The hemorrhoidal cushions are enlarged but remain within the anal canal, projecting into the lumen without prolapsing beyond the dentate line. Bleeding during defecation is the typical presenting symptom. Grade I hemorrhoids are the earliest stage. The dilated vascular cushions bleed when traumatized by passing stool but do not prolapse. Conservative management with fiber supplementation and topical therapy is usually sufficient. The model supports patient education about hemorrhoid grading. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Ready for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
