Description
An anterior cross section of the uterus showing a pedunculated submucosal fibroid. The fibroid projects into the uterine cavity on a stalk, hanging from the endometrial surface. The stalk contains the feeding blood vessels. Pedunculated submucosal fibroids are the most symptomatic type relative to their size. Even small ones cause heavy menstrual bleeding because they distort the endometrial surface and interfere with normal hemostasis. They can sometimes prolapse through the cervical canal. Hysteroscopic resection is the standard surgical approach. The model supports gynecological education and surgical planning. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
