Description
An anterior cross section of the uterus showing a submucosal fibroid. The fibroid grows from the myometrium inward, bulging into the uterine cavity and distorting the endometrial surface. Its position beneath the endometrium gives it direct impact on menstrual bleeding. Submucosal fibroids are the least common type but the most symptomatic. They cause heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding, intermenstrual spotting, and can interfere with embryo implantation. Hysteroscopic myomectomy is possible when the fibroid is predominantly intracavitary. The model supports gynecological education and surgical planning. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
