Description
An anterior cross section of the uterus showing hydrosalpinx, a blocked and fluid-filled fallopian tube. The affected tube is distended and swollen, filled with serous fluid that accumulates because the fimbriated end is sealed shut. The tubal wall is thinned from chronic distension. Hydrosalpinx typically results from prior pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, or previous surgery. The blocked tube cannot capture the ovulated egg, causing tubal factor infertility. The accumulated fluid can also leak into the uterine cavity and impair embryo implantation during IVF. The model supports reproductive medicine education and patient counseling. Reviewed by a medical advisory board. Clean geometry for rendering, real-time, and 3D printing.
