Uterus Kissing Ovaries

Description

A 3D model of the uterus showing kissing ovaries, where bilateral endometriomas have enlarged both ovaries until they adhere to each other behind the uterus in the posterior cul-de-sac. Dense adhesions bind the ovaries together and to the posterior uterine wall. Kissing ovaries represent advanced endometriosis where bilateral endometriomas have grown large enough, and the surrounding adhesive disease is dense enough, to pull the ovaries into contact. The rectouterine pouch is obliterated, and the ovaries may be inseparable from the posterior uterine surface. The model supports advanced endometriosis education and surgical planning.
