Description
Framed within the right upper quadrant, the female liver appears with its smooth Glisson capsule enclosing parenchyma organized around portal triads and draining toward the hepatic veins and inferior vena cava. An intraparenchymal tumor mass expands over time, its lobulated, irregular margins pushing into adjacent hepatic tissue while a denser central core remains comparatively fixed. As the animation advances, the lesion’s relationship to nearby vascular channels becomes clearer, with peripheral distortion of sinusoids and displacement of small portal venules and bile ductules at the interface. Borders stay uneven. It is not a clean sphere. Morphologic cues like a thickened, irregular rim and a heterogeneous center matter when you are thinking through the usual differential for a focal hepatic lesion: hepatocellular carcinoma in a cirrhotic background, a necrotic metastasis, or a benign mass such as focal nodular hyperplasia with a central scar. The sequential build of the lesion provides the part static art cannot, showing how a growing mass compresses local inflow and outflow pathways, creating the anatomic basis for capsular retraction, segmental cholestasis, or venous outflow obstruction in advanced cases.
