Description
Centered on the bilateral elbow region, the model places the distal humerus superiorly with the medial and lateral epicondyles flanking the trochlea and capitulum, which articulate inferiorly with the trochlear notch of the ulna (humeroulnar joint) and the head of the radius (humeroradial joint). Posteriorly, the olecranon process projects proximally and sits in line with the triceps tendon insertion, while the ulnar nerve courses in the cubital tunnel just posterior to the medial epicondyle. With the arms held slightly abducted from the torso, the elbow contours read cleanly in anatomical position, emphasizing the hinge alignment and the superficial bony landmarks used for palpation. Palpable landmarks matter here because elbow assessment is often done by inspection and touch before imaging. Olecranon prominence and the relationship between the olecranon and epicondyles help screen for posterior elbow dislocation, and focal posterior swelling localizes neatly to olecranon bursitis.
