Centered on the proximal thigh and groin, the rendered adult male figure highlights the femoral region with blue shading over the anterior and anterolateral thighs. Superiorly, the inguinal crease marks the transition from lower abdomen to thigh, where the inguinal ligament would span from the anterior superior iliac spine to the pubic tubercle. Just inferior to that line, the femoral triangle is implied between sartorius laterally and adductor longus medially, with the femoral nerve lying lateral to the femoral artery and the femoral vein positioned medial to it, all descending into the femoral canal region. The stance and slight rightward orientation give a clear sense of proximal-to-distal thigh length and mediolateral thigh volume. Clinically, this is the corridor used every day for vascular access and regional anesthesia: the common femoral artery is palpated immediately inferior to the inguinal ligament for arterial puncture, and the femoral vein is cannulated just medial to it, a relationship that matters when obesity, variant anatomy, or a high bifurcation complicates the landmark technique. Compression at this level is also the first-line maneuver for hemorrhage control after catheterization, and the same groin anatomy frames femoral hernias as they pass through the femoral canal, inferior to the ligament and medial to the vein. Surface anatomy matters here. Small positional errors have consequences. Use this asset for teaching lower-limb surface anatomy in gross anatomy, physical examination, sports medicine, and anesthesia blocks, or to illustrate femoral access, groin incisions, and catheter-based interventions in surgical and interventional radiology publications.
