Description
Presented as an adult female in standard anatomical position, the external contour of the head, neck, trunk, and limbs is organized around familiar surface landmarks: clavicles spanning the superior thorax, the sternal angle at midline, and the iliac crests defining the superior margin of the pelvis. Proximally, the shoulder (glenohumeral region) transitions into the arm, elbow, forearm, and hand, while distally the hip region continues into thigh, knee, leg, and foot with the patella anterior to the knee and the malleoli flanking the ankle. Medially, the anterior abdominal wall runs from the costal margin to the pubic region, bounded laterally by the flanks and the palpable anterior superior iliac spines.
