Description
Rendered in lateral profile, the zygomaticus minor is isolated in red beneath a semi-transparent cheek, allowing its full course to be read against the zygomatic bone and adjacent mimetic musculature. Superior to the zygomaticus major and lateral to the levator labii superioris, it descends anteroinferiorly from the zygomatic bone toward the upper lip and nasolabial region, lying superficial to the maxilla yet deep to the dermis. The orbicularis oculi frames the orbit posteriorly and superiorly, while the maxillary and zygomatic contours provide fixed bony landmarks for orientation. Skin, beard, and scalp hair remain visible as translucent surface references.
