Presented in anatomical position from a frontal (anterior) perspective, the figure frames the lateral (radial) border of the antebrachium running from the lateral epicondylar region of the humerus toward the radial styloid at the wrist. Along this margin, the radius lies lateral to the ulna, and the contour you expect to read on the surface corresponds to the brachioradialis muscle belly proximally, tapering distally toward the radial styloid process. The highlighted marking on the forearm guides attention to the clinically used corridor between the brachioradialis laterally and the flexor carpi radialis more medially. Clear landmarks. Palpating and navigating the lateral forearm is a daily task in emergency and perioperative settings because the radial artery becomes accessible in the distal anterior-lateral forearm, just medial to the brachioradialis tendon, where it is commonly cannulated for arterial lines and sampled for arterial blood gas.
