Surface and bony landmarks you would expect in this view include the iliac crest superiorly, the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) anterolaterally, and the posterior superior iliac spine (PSIS) posterolaterally, with the greater trochanter palpable inferior to the hip joint line.
