Description
Framed as a full-length male figure, the anterior compartment musculature is organized around familiar surface landmarks, with pectoralis major spanning the anterior thorax, deltoid capping the shoulder, and biceps brachii lying superficial to brachialis along the anterior arm. Inferiorly, rectus abdominis runs vertically from the costal cartilages toward the pubic symphysis, flanked laterally by the external oblique. Across the thigh, sartorius crosses obliquely from the anterior superior iliac spine toward the medial knee, while rectus femoris and vastus medialis and lateralis form the quadriceps mass around the patella and proximal tibia. Tendinous condensations are suggested at major insertions and around the ankle where long tendons course distally.
