Description

Anteriorly oriented male upper limbs are presented from the brachium through the forearm to the hands, with the shoulder contours framing the proximal arm and the elbow creases lying distal to the humeral shaft. Along the forearm, the radial (lateral) border can be distinguished from the ulnar (medial) border as the limb tapers toward the carpus, where the wrist creases demarcate the transition to the palm. Distally, the hands align in mirror symmetry, with the thenar eminence positioned laterally and the hypothenar eminence medially in standard anatomical position. An anterior external view like this is the reference point for surface anatomy and neurovascular screening because it anchors the clinician’s language to reproducible landmarks at the elbow and wrist.
