Description
Presented in anterior anatomical position, the upper torso reveals the clavicles spanning laterally to the acromial region, with the manubrium and body of the sternum aligned on the midline and the costal cartilages curving to the visible anterior ribs. Pectoralis major forms the dominant superficial chest mass, its fibers sweeping from the sternum and clavicle toward the proximal humerus, while serratus anterior interdigitates along the lateral thoracic wall, deep and lateral to pectoralis major. Intercostal muscle planes occupy the interspaces between adjacent ribs, and the superior portion of rectus abdominis appears inferiorly, separated on the midline by the linea alba. Sternocleidomastoid borders the lower neck, and the anterior deltoid caps the shoulder.
