Presented from an anterior perspective, the female neurocranium is dominated by the frontal squama, with the paired frontal eminences flanking the midline region of the glabella. Superiorly and laterally, the frontal bone sweeps toward the coronal suture where it meets the parietal bones, creating the rounded contour of the cranial vault (braincase, skullcap). Inferiorly, the supraorbital margins outline the superior boundary of each orbit, and the supraorbital notch or foramen marks the passage of the supraorbital neurovascular bundle near the junction of the medial and middle thirds. Midline symmetry is a key readout. An anterior view of the cranial vault matters because it captures surgical and trauma-relevant landmarks in a single glance: the frontal sinus region deep to the lower frontal squama, the supraorbital rim as a reference for anterior craniofacial fixation, and the coronal suture as an orientation line for scalp incisions and frontal craniotomy planning.
