Description
Floccular peduncle (pedunculus flocculi) bridges the flocculus on the cerebellar hemisphere to the midline nodule of the flocculonodular lobe. From an anterior perspective, the slender white matter band sits medial to the flocculus and lateral to the nodule, running posterior to the brainstem-facing surface of the cerebellum where it approaches the roof of the fourth ventricle. Fibers align with the vestibulocerebellar pathway, closely related to the juxtarestiform body at the inferolateral margin of the inferior cerebellar peduncle. White matter dominates the field. This relationship matters when you need to explain how vestibular input reaches the cerebellar cortex and how cerebellar output calibrates ocular movements.
