Centered on the anterior orbital region of the adult male face, the illustration presents the bony orbital rim formed by the frontal bone superiorly, zygomatic bone laterally, and maxilla inferiorly, framing the ocular globe within the orbit. Medially, the thin lacrimal bone and ethmoid contribute to the medial orbital wall, adjacent to the nasal bones and the anterior ethmoidal region, while the greater wing of the sphenoid defines the posterolateral contour. Periorbital soft tissues include the eyelids with the tarsal plates, medial and lateral canthi, and the surrounding orbicularis oculi, all draped over the orbital septum and subcutaneous fat pads. Orientation is strictly anterior, making left to right symmetry and rim landmarks easy to compare. Anterior orbital anatomy is where facial trauma and orbital pathology become clinically legible. Blowout fractures most often involve the orbital floor (maxilla) or medial wall (lamina papyracea of the ethmoid), producing enophthalmos, diplopia from inferior rectus entrapment, and infraorbital nerve hypoesthesia along the cheek and upper lip.
