Description

Medially, the talar head and navicular sit superior to the medial longitudinal arch, while laterally the cuboid and calcaneus outline a lower lateral longitudinal arch. Across the midfoot, the medial, intermediate, and lateral cuneiforms form the base of the transverse arch, bridging toward the first through fifth metatarsals. The hallux lies on the medial border, with the lesser toes progressively lateral.
