Within the triangle lie the infrahyoid strap muscles, sternohyoid and omohyoid superficial to sternothyroid and thyrohyoid, arranged as paired columns that converge toward the manubrium and clavicle inferiorly. Deep to these planes sit the thyroid gland and laryngotracheal complex, with the laryngeal cartilages and upper tracheal rings positioned centrally, and the thyroid lobes extending laterally toward the carotid triangle. Anterior jugular veins and the ansa cervicalis typically course on or within the investing fascia over the strap muscles. Clear midline anatomy.
