Medial profile of the adult male hindfoot centers on the calcaneus (calcaneum) and the rounded transition where the plantar surface meets the medial side of the heel. The medial process of the calcaneal tuberosity lies inferiorly, continuous anteriorly with the plantar aspect of the foot, while the superior contour rises toward the posterior calcaneus.
