Description
Posterior surface anatomy of the male sacral region is centered on the sacrum and coccyx along the midline, with the median sacral crest palpable beneath the skin between the posterior superior iliac spines (PSIS). Laterally, the sacral surface contours into the gluteal region, where the posterior iliac crests frame the superior boundary and the gluteal cleft marks the inferior midline transition toward the perineum. Overlying soft tissues define the classic “saddle” distribution across the lower sacrum and adjacent buttocks, a useful external reference for the posterior pelvic midline.
