Medially, the navicular region forms a palpable prominence at the midfoot, while the medial cuneiform and the base and head of the first metatarsal align distally toward the hallux. The hallux and first metatarsophalangeal region occupy the anteromedial forefoot, with the medial plantar contour sweeping proximally toward the sustentaculum tali region of the calcaneus.
