Description
Seen in lateral profile, the adult male regio cubitalis is defined by the distal humerus articulating with the proximal ulna and radius, with the lateral epicondyle of the humerus projecting slightly anterior and superior to the radial head. Posteriorly, the olecranon process of the ulna forms the palpable tip of the elbow, sitting proximal to the ulnar shaft and just posterior to the humeral trochlea. The radial head lies anterolateral to the olecranon, creating the lateral contour that transitions distally into the proximal forearm.
