Description
Viewed obliquely from the dorsum, the left foot is presented with blue surface markings aligned to the interdigital clefts between the hallux and second toe through the fourth and fifth toes. Each web space lies distal to the corresponding intermetatarsal space and is bounded by the medial and lateral digital margins of adjacent toes, with the dorsal skin folds bridging between the proximal phalanges. Proximally, the markings relate back toward the metatarsal shafts and the tarsometatarsal region, while the medial longitudinal arch and the transition to the anterior ankle remain in frame for orientation. Skin tone and soft-tissue contours are rendered with attention to anatomic surface topography. Dorsal interdigital landmarks matter because clinicians localize neurovascular and dermatologic findings by web space rather than by metatarsal number, and the first dorsal web space is a classic sensory territory for the deep fibular (peroneal) nerve.
