Description
Anterior cutaway of an adult female trunk and proximal limbs combines skeletal landmarks with thoracoabdominal viscera, allowing the ribs, sternum, vertebral column, and pelvic ring to frame the heart and lungs superiorly and the liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas, and small and large intestines inferiorly. Peripheral nerves branch laterally from the spinal canal, tracking with segmental vessels toward the body wall and limbs, while superficial and deep musculature remains partially rendered to indicate layers and compartment boundaries. Spatial relationships stay true to anatomical position. Cross-system layout matters when you need to teach or plan around shared spaces rather than single organs. The pleural cavities and pericardium sit immediately deep to the thoracic cage, a relationship that explains why rib fractures can lacerate lung parenchyma and why pericardiocentesis targets an approach that avoids the internal thoracic vessels and pleura.
