Medially, the bicipital groove between biceps and triceps corresponds to the course of the brachial neurovascular bundle, while the triceps brachii mass remains largely posterior but contributes to the lateral arm silhouette. Distally, the biceps tendon tracks inferiorly toward the radial tuberosity, with the brachialis lying deep to biceps along the anterior humeral shaft. An anterior upper arm view is the one clinicians reach for when teaching surface anatomy and safe corridors for injections or procedures. The deltoid injection site and its relationship to the surgical neck of the humerus matter because axillary nerve injury can occur with a low or posterior placement.
