Description
Frontal anatomical orientation centers on the left and right coxal (innominate) bones and the proximal femora, with blue emphasis over the anterolateral hip contour in a standing Black adult female. Along the superior margin, the iliac crest curves from the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) medially toward the anterior inferior iliac spine, framing the anterior pelvis above the acetabular region. Inferomedially, the pubic tubercle and pubic symphysis sit at the midline, while laterally the greater trochanter lies distal to the acetabulum and defines the palpable lateral prominence of the proximal thigh. Surface anatomy reads clearly. Anterior hip topography is a frequent source of diagnostic and procedural error, so anchoring the ASIS, inguinal ligament line, and greater trochanter in one view matters.
